Fagradalsfjall Volcano Hike

Embark on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, and witness the Fagradalsfjall volcano in Geldingadalur valley. Although the eruption is finished, it's still stunning to see the new lava fields and craters created by the eruption up close. Any travellers who wish to witness the Land of Ice and Fire should not miss this tour.

Your private car will pick you up at you selected location and you’ll then set off from the capital, and enter the mystical landscapes of the Reykjanes Peninsula.

As you travel through this region, you’ll immediately see the volcanism of the area. Jagged lava fields, cone-shaped peaks, and columns of steam from geothermal sites will define your journey to Geldingadalur.

Once you get as close as possible, you’ll disembark from the vehicle and begin your hike to the newly formed lava fields.

Be sure to be dressed for the weather, wear warm clothes, gloves, hat.  Bring water, food and decent hiking boots.

Your guide will let you get as close as is safely possible, and provide you with plenty of time to explore.
